Classical Yoga for Modern Life
Rooted in lineage. BACKED BY SCIENCE. Guided by COMPASSION.
ABOUT DANI HÉBERT
Classical Yoga Therapy for Empowered Human Transformation
I am Dani Hébert—yoga teacher, yoga therapist, and personal coach with 25 years of dedicated practice and 15 years of teaching. I specialize in classical yoga therapy from the Krishnamacharya lineage, integrating time-tested yogic wisdom with science-backed therapeutic application to support nervous system health, emotional resilience, and empowered personal growth.
My work bridges ancient knowledge and modern embodiment, helping people not only feel better—but truly reclaim their mind, their breath, and their life.
Lineage and Teachers
I stand within the living tradition of Śrī T. Krishnamacharya, whose teachings have shaped the evolution of modern yoga. I am deeply grateful to study within this lineage through my teachers:
A.G. Mohan – Direct student of Krishnamacharya for over 30 years and founder of Svastha Yoga
Dr. Ganesh Mohan – Physician and yoga therapist integrating modern medicine with classical yoga
Srivatsa Ramaswami – Krishnamacharya’s longest-standing student outside the family, teacher of Vinyasa Krama
Sri Shubha – International teacher specializing in yoga therapy for women and well-being
Father Joe Pereira – Founder of The Kripa Foundation, Iyengar Yoga Therapy for addiction recovery
Val Petrich – Senior Iyengar Yoga teacher integrating a practical therapeutic lens for functional movement and spine health
Ryan Leier – My husband, mentor, and partner on this path; world-renowned yoga teacher dedicated to sharing yoga as a living lineage connected to community and heart
This tradition teaches that yoga is adaptable to the individual and meant to meet each person exactly where they are. It is a precise system designed for healing and transformation.
Why Lineage + Science Matter
Lineage provides wisdom. Science confirms its effectiveness.
The methods I teach are time-tested, principle-based, and aligned with modern research in nervous system regulation, breath physiology, cognitive change, and mental health.
This is yoga that:
Respects tradition and honors teachers
Works with the nervous system rather than against it
Uses personalized practice for real therapeutic change
Builds self-awareness and emotional stability
Empowers people with lifelong tools
I do not teach quick fixes. I teach process-based transformation rooted in clarity, consistency, and compassion.
What I Teach
I teach applied classical yoga for self-mastery—a therapeutic, disciplined approach rooted in the lineage of Sri T. Krishnamacharya and strengthened by modern science. My work empowers people to overcome limitations, regulate the nervous system, and build inner strength through consistent personal practice.
My teaching weaves together:
Therapeutic Breathwork & Prāṇāyāma
Breath is the gateway to mastery of mind and energy. I teach progressive, traditional pranayāma to build nervous system resilience, emotional stability, and mental clarity—using time-tested methods backed by modern breath science.
Personal Sādhana: Discipline that Transforms
Yoga becomes powerful when it becomes personal. I guide students to develop a committed daily practice (sādhana) that strengthens willpower, restores inner order, and supports meaningful change—on and off the mat.
Vinyasa Krama – Practice with Purpose
Through intelligent sequencing and precise adaptation, Vinyasa Krama trains the body and mind in progression, patience, and intentional effort. Every practice has a direction, and every step prepares the next.
Classical & Therapeutic Inversions
Approached safely and progressively, inversions cultivate courage, steadiness, and focus. I offer accessible, therapeutic variations that build structural integrity while unlocking the mental benefits of these powerful postures.
Āsana with Intelligence
Movement becomes medicine. Integrating principles from Vinyasa Krama and Iyengar methodology, I teach functional āsana that supports longevity, stability, healthy biomechanics, and deep internal awareness.
This is not performative yoga. It is real practice—a path of self-regulation, self-understanding, and self-mastery. It builds people who are strong in body, steady in mind, and empowered to direct their own lives.
